22 Division Initiates Dengue Prevention Conference

In response to a request, made by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekera, a special conference on ‘Dengue Prevention’, presided by the District Secretary for Trincomalee Mr N.A.A Pushpakumara got underway at Trincomalee District Secretariat on Monday (2).

The forum focused on reactivation of the ‘National Action Plan’ to arrest recurring spread of Dengue in the Trincomalee district. The responsibility was assigned to the District Development Committees and Divisional Development Committees in conducting Dengue prevention campaigns during the discussions. Further, the responsibility of all the Heads of Departments, Tri Services and the Police to cater to the national requirement on a priority basis was also highlighted.

District Secretary Mr N.A.A Pushpakumara, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara, DIG Trioncomalee Mr R.M.M.G Perera, Commander 222 Brigade, Brigadier Deepal Pussella, Regional Health Director, Mrs P Kayalvizhi, Commanding Officers and Health Department Officers also participated in this conference and shared their thoughts.
