The foundation stone for construction of a new house for a needy family in the general area of the Navodagama Grama Niladhari Division in Mahawillachchiya got underway on Monday (25) on an initiative taken by the Commander 213 Brigade, Brigadier Rasika Kumara of the 21 Division.
5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion troops have undertaken its construction with funds made available by donors in the area after learning the hardships being experienced by the family of Mr. Janaka Senarath Bandara, a self-employed man but without any income as of now due to COVID-19 pandemic.
This community programme will be implemented with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces-Wanni, Major General Hemantha Bandara, and the General Officer Commanding, 21 Division, Major General Vikum Liyanage.
