Army troops attached to the 211 Infantry Brigade of the 21 Infantry Division voluntarily gave their blood during a blood donation drive, organized by the Red Cross Society of Royal College of Colombo inside Padaviya Hospital premises on 08 October 2023.
Following guidance and directions given by both Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni and Major General I.A.N.B Perera RWP USP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division, Army troops attached to the 211 Infantry Brigade volunteered donating their blood for this community-oriented programme.
It was held to coincide with the 44th annual blood donation campaign of the Red Cross Society of the Royal College of Colombo. Brigadier I.N Kandanaarachchi RSP, Commander of 211 Infantry Brigade and 81 Army personnel including Officers and Other Ranks from the 211 Infantry Brigade and 9 Gajaba Regiment, 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment, Battalion Training School, and 330 from SLASC Squadron joined the day’s programme.
A medical team from the Padaviya Hospital including doctors, nurses and assistants contributed to the success of the day's programme.
