211 Infantry Brigade organized a New Year festival at the 211 Infantry Brigade playground on 19 April 2024.
Residents in the area enthusiastically participated and joined hands together with troops to celebrate the festival. The festival commenced after Brigadier I.N Kandanaarachchi RSP, Commander, 211 Infantry Brigade lighting the traditional oil lamp.
Bun eating, pillow-fights, raban playing, eye-placing on the Elephant, tug of war, fancy dress parade, and several other traditional and fun-making games dominated the day’s proceedings to the much amusement of all the onlookers.
At the end of the festival, Commander, 211 Infantry Brigade and several Senior Officers gave away gifts and trophies to the winners in different events and competitions.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians in the area had a time full of fun and entertainment, associated with New Year traditions and cultural events.
