210 More Expatriates Arrive within Last 24 Hours - NOCPCO

As of this morning (15), a total of 688 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 03 of them are foreign sea marshals and the rest, 685 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 200 from Colombo, 113 from Gampaha district and 117 from Kalutara district and other 255 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (15), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 29,833. Meanwhile, 20,901 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (26,774) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

Up to yesterday (14), a total of 33,477 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 24,308 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 9,015 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (15), 516 recovered patients within last 24 hours have left hospitals and care centres. To-date, 154 COVID-19 positive deaths have been so far reported. Two more COVID-19 deaths reported in the past 24 hours were from Bandaragama and Colombo areas.

By this morning (15), the flight EY 264 from Canada with 130 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 80 passengers have arrived. The flight UL 554 from Germany with 30 passengers, the flight UL 504 with 48 passengers from the UK, the flight TK 730 from Turkey with 74 passengers and the flight UL 182 from Nepal with 23 passengers are expected to arrive here. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
