21 Infantry Division Marks Its 36th Anniversary

The 21 Infantry Division proudly marked its 36th anniversary on 04 April 2024, celebrating its proud history with a series of events conducted under the guidance of Major General H.H.K.S.S. Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 21 Infantry Division.

Prior to the anniversary, troops organized a friendly cricket tournament among Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Staff in all under command formations. Furthermore, an All-Night ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony and an almsgiving for the members of Maha Sangha were conducted with the intention of invoking blessings for the troops.

The anniversary day’s proceedings began with a customary Guard Turnout, presented to the GOC by 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps troops at the entrance to the HQ.

Afterwards, the GOC posed for a group photograph, followed by an All-Ranks lunch. As dusk fell, a musical evening entertaining the troops got underway at the premises culminating the day’s programme. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Division participated in the event.
