An initiative of the 21 Division HQ of the Security Force Headquarters -Wanni saw 565 saplings such as Kumbuk, Mee, Mara, Karanda, Maadam, Karuwala, Nika, Halmilla and Mahogane were planted around catchment and bund areas of the Kudawalpola tank, Poonewa tank, Galkadawala tank and Thammennaelawaka tank on the directions given by Major General Vikum Liyanage, General Officer Commanding 21 Division during three days in November and December, 2020 with the participation of 211 Brigade troops.
The project was also supported by Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander Security Forces -Wanni to be in line with the ongoing 'Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak ' drive of the Commander of the Army, focused on reforestation and afforestation. It was carried out 23, 25 November and 22 December 2020.
The programme was brought to completion under the supervision of the Commander 211 Brigade, Colonel Rohan Jayakody.
