5 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 213 Brigade of the 21 Division under the Security Forces HQ - Wanni recently prevented an imminent breach in the Andiyapuliyankulam tank bund in Villachchiya area and subsequently cleaned the Nabadagasdigiliya tank with the support of the villagers.
The Divisional Secretariat sought the support of the troops for the Nabadagasdigiliya tank clean-up after the troops averted a major breach in the Andiyapuliyankulam tank bund after heavy rains made the tank to overflow its bunds after piercing its bund. By laying sandbags, together with civilians, the 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment troops prevented its breach.
