20 SLSR Troops Assist to Conduct the First Procession of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Temple

The first procession of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama temple, marking the beginning of the New Year Eve celebrations, took place on 14 April 2024 under the guidance of Ruhunu Kataragama Basnayake Nilame.

The troops of the 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, under the supervision of Major General C.S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG, the General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division and the Commanding Officer of 20 SLSR provided dinner to over 4,000 devotees who had gathered to witness the procession and pay homage at the Kataragama temple.

This initiative was made possible with the financial support from the Council of Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Temple.
