20 Gajaba Regiment (GR) of the 22 Infantry Brigade and 22 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East through the generosity of a donor arranged a distribution of school accessories among students studying at Parana Medawachchiya Vidyalaya, Mahasenpura on Tuesday (04 July) at the school premises.
Accordingly, 80 underprivileged students received school accessories and essentials, worth over Rs. 3,20,000/= thanks to the sponsorship provided by Mr D Pushpakumara residing in Gampaha. The coordination of the troops enabled the launch of the project since the lack of resources in their families has badly affected the school attendance.
The project was staged under the guidance of Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division and Colonel A.K Peiris RSP, Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade.
Major W.W.N.C Waduge RWP RSP USP, Commanding Officer of 20 GR supervised all the arrangements and attended the event, together with Mr D Pushpakumara, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, principal, tutorial staff and beneficiaries.
