As part of the civil-military cooperation project, 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) under the supervision of the Commander 221 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Sujeewa Rathnayaka along with the Commanding Officer, Major W Warnakulasooriya offered a lunch treat to the children at ‘Rewatha’ orphanage at the 5th Mile Post, Trincomalee on 26 February.
During the same programme, troops gave away gift parcels to those children who have been living there without parents or care-takers.
The project received blessings of the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama.
The children in the orphanage exhibited few entertaining features at this occasion.
