Under the guidance of Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, troops of 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) commenced the construction of a new home for an underprivileged family in Trincomalee on 25 February 2024. This endeavor commenced with the laying of the foundation stone for the new house, signaling the start of construction for the deserving family.
The project, financially backed by Mr. Gunasekara, a notable philanthropist, aims to provide shelter for a family in need. With the technical assistance of 2 (V) GR troops, the construction is projected to be completed within three months.
