19,420 PCR Tests Done on Thursday - NOCPCO

As of this morning (29), a total of 892 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 40 are Sri Lankan expatriates and other 852 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 298 from Colombo district, 203 from Gampaha district, 42 from Kalutara district and other 309 from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (29), a total of 61,585 persons, inclusive of 54,549 of the fish market have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 54,434 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,854 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

In the past 24 hours, 1,869 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 7 more deaths have been reported from Enderamulla, Colombo 6, Colombo 13, Nittambuwa and Gallella areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 297 by this morning (29).
