19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment troops serving the 651 Brigade of the 65 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni in order to promote goodwill between the troops and the people in the area carried out a Shramadana (self-help) project in the Xavier Church compound in Kalvilan on 14 January 2022.
With the support of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General Anil Samarasiri, the Commanding Officer of the 19 SLLI continued with the project on the instructions of the 651 Brigade Commander.
Church authorities praised the troops and appreciated their voluntary work towards harmony and goodwill.
