Troops of the 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) of the 241 Infantry Brigade of the 24 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force HQ - East with sponsorship, provided by a private donor, gifted a set of sports items to school students at Imam Ghashal High School at Nindavur, Kalmune on 18th November 2022.
The project got underway with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi and the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, Major General Wajira Welagedara in order to support improve the sports skills of those students. Mr. S.M.L Nasiroon came forward to sponsor the cost of the stock of those accessories needed for sports.
Accordingly, the Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Chandra Abeykoon participated in the distribution as the chief guest with the donor, Mr S.M.L. Nasiroon, the Principal, Civil Affairs Officer of the 241 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of the 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and teachers.
Several invitees were also present.
