17 Sri Lanka National Guard (17 SLNG) troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) constructed a new Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plant as a solution for a long-lasting problem of drinking water in the 17 SLNG camp premises and in Kumburupiddi area.
This was made possible with the generous sponsorship of Rs 1,000,000 (Rs one million) granted by Mr Chathura Kularathna, the owner of Bodyline (Pvt) Ltd Company Ltd at Horana at the request of Major P.G.L Hemakumara, Commanding Officer, 17 SLNG.
The project will also benefit 500 families in the area who have been badly affected due to scarcity of drinking water. The RO plant was ceremonially inaugurated last Sunday (Dec 18) by representatives of Bodyline (Pvt) Ltd Company and 17 SLNG Officers, Other Ranks and native villagers.
