The Battalion Training Course No-29 of the 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) got underway with 9 Officers and 303 Other Ranks at the Battalion Training School in Galkulama during 4 September - 24 October 2023.
The curriculum of the course included lectures and practical sessions on military training modules including shooting, civil-military cooperation, experiences humanitarian operations and the course ended in an awarding ceremony.
Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commander, Security Forces-Wanni, delivered closing remarks and gave away incentives.
The General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division and 56 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni, Brigade Commander, 561 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the closing ceremony.
Captain M.N.C.P Abeywickrama SLSR was awarded as the Best Student and Best Shooter, Corporal D.A.N.S Deguruarachchi as the Best in Physical Fitness were awarded. In addition, award related to the Best Company went to the ‘B’ Company in the course.
