16 GR Troops Get Dry Rations to Needy Families in Thabbowa

Troops of the 16 Gajaba Regiment (GR) of the 143 Brigade under the 14 Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters-West with sponsorship received donated dry ration packs to deserving families in Puttalam, Thabbowa area, each worth of Rs 20,000/= .

Considering the miserable plight of those families, Brigadier Faumi Kitchilan, Commander of 143 Brigade on being informed, received the patronage of Mrs. Thushari Ranaweera, Assistant General Executive (Legal) of Hatton National Bank.

Major S.A.D.P Jayarathne, Commanding Officer of 16 GR who also coordinated the sponsorship went to those families' doorsteps and handed over those essential dry ration packs, consisted of rice, cereals, milk powder packets, chillies, dry fish, canned fish, potatoes, dhal, spices, etc.
