Major General Lalith Herath assumed office as the 15th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) on 06 June 2022 at the SLSC Regimental Centre in Panagoda.
The Colonel Commandant was greeted and welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier Sudantha Fonseka before he was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Thereafter, Colonel Commandant placed a floral wreath at the fallen war heroes’ monument in remembrance of fallen war heroes before he was invited to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour at the Regimental Centre parade ground.
Afterwards, the new Colonel Commandant placed his signature in a formal document amidst religious observances to signify the acceptance of the new office. He also addressed all officers at the SLSC Regimental HQ which was transmitted virtually across all SLSC camps. The day’s proceedings ended with an All Rank lunch at the SLSC Regimental HQ.
