15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops of the 562 Brigade in 56 Division of the Security Force HQ-Wanni on account of the World Children's Day/World Elders’ Day conducted a few community projects in the general areas of Sinnavalayankadu and Vilaththakulam on Thursday (1).
At first, they renovated the dilapidated office of the Family Health Services, attended largely by pregnant women in the area and the unattended Children’s Park at Sinnavalayankaddu which remained infested with wild bushes and creepers.
Troops considering the plight of children and adults in the area pocketed out own money and bought 50 gift packets for distribution in connection with the World Children’s/Elders’ Day after inviting them to the renovated Children’s Park.
