144 Brigade Troops Rehearse ‘Disaster Management’ and ‘Riot Control’ Practices

144 Brigade troops under the guidelines given by Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander Security Forces-West organized a demonstration and a subsequent workshop, related to ‘Disaster Management’ and ‘Riot Control’ on 02 October 2022.

Sticking to instructions given by the General Officer Commanding 14 Division Brigadier Roshan Jayamanna and Brigadier Vindana Kodithuwakku, Commander 144 Brigade the workshop got underway at 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment camp premises in Kelanimulla and emergency disaster practices were rehearsed on the banks of Kelani river.

5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment troops are presently following the 5-day long ‘Disaster Management’ and ‘Riot Control’ workshop during 2-9 October at the 2 (v) SLLI Camp. Well-trained troops of 2 (V) SLLI conducted the workshop.

During the demonstration, Army personnel were educated both theoretically and practically on the roles of flood relief, and emergency responses for Riot Control. Troops from 5 Field Engineers and Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps also witnessed the demonstration.
