143 Brigade's Initiative Gets 10 Air Beds to Kurunegala Teaching Hospital

Responding to the shortage of air beds in the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital, troops of the 143 Infantry Brigade and the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard initiated a project to provide 10 air beds to the hospital with the collective sponsorship, extended by a group of philanthropists and donors on Monday (21 Aug).

The group of donors, comprised of Brigadier M.A.D.S Munasinghe (Rtd) RWP RSP psc IG, Mr Asanga Elipura, Ms Sriyani Chandrasekara, Mr Rohan Aluthge, Mr Damith Witharanage, Ms Visudi Dias Abeygunawardena, Mr Chanaka Prasanga, Mr Nevil Prasanna, Mr Hasanka Duminda and Mr Roy Perera of Sanasa Life Insurance lent their assistance in purchasing those much-required air beds, generally used for critically ill patients.

The project was launched under the guidance of Major General U.D Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander, Security Forces - West and Brigadier K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP, General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division.

Brigadier T.M.F Kitchilan RWP RSP, Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade, Officers, Other Ranks of 143 Infantry Brigade and 1 Sri Lanka National Guard along with Dr Chandana Kandangamuwa, Director of the Teaching Hospital - Kurunegala and Dr Sanjeewa Bowatte, Consultant Physician were present at the simple handover ceremony.
