141 Infantry Brigade troops of the 14 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ-West, concerned about the miserable living condition of a family, consists of a father, mother and four children residing in the Kurikotuwa Grama Niladari Division of Veyangoda provided dry rations, worth about Rs 15,000/= at their expense in order to support their livelihood.
Those relief packs contained rice, dhal, spices, cereals, dry fish, milk powder packets, etc and the project was totally coordinated by the Commander, 141 Infantry Brigade with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces -West. A section of those troops who pocketed out money for the humanitarian project went to their doorstep and handed over the consignment of relief items.
Earlier on 25 February, their house was partly burnt in a fire compelling them to abandon it for some time.
The Commander 141 Infantry Brigade, 141 Infantry Brigade's Civil Affairs Officer and several Other Ranks were present when those relief packs were delivered to the family on Tuesday (28 February 2023).
