An initiative of the 141 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West resulted in the donation of a large stock of essential school accessories to a selected group of 38 deserving students at Guruwela Primary School in Dompe with sponsorship provided by a retired Army officer and his spouse on 19 December 2022.
Each pack of school accessories and essentials was made up of Exercise Books, Pens, Pencils, Arithmetic Boxes, School bags, stationery to the value of Rs 2,50,000/-. The retired Army Officer, Major Roshan Siva and his spouse sponsored the donation at the request of the 141 Infantry Brigade since those students, though clever undergo hardships and are unable to buy school accessories.
8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 141 Infantry Brigade under the supervision of the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters-West organized the award of those incentives to 38 school students at Guruwela Primary School.
The Civil Affairs Officer of the 141 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Sponsors and Other Ranks attended the occasion.
