141 Brigade Troops with Sponsorship Received Gift One More Home to a Needy Family

A needy mother, Mrs Pradeepa Niroshini living in Attanagalle area was the latest recipient of a new house on Thursday (21) after 6 Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) with the support of 12 Engineer Services Squadron of 1 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) built it with cash sponsorship provided by the ‘Sevanak Wemu Foundation’.

The Commander, 141 Brigade, Brigadier Pradeep Gamage initiated the project to be in line with the instructions given by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army to the Commander, Security Forces – West. The guidance of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 14 Division along with the supervision made by the Commander 141 Brigade enabled the troops to comple the project well ahead of the time framework.

Funds for raw materials to construct the house were donated by the ‘Sewanak Wemu’ foundation and inaugural religious activities were performed by Ven Medauyangoda Wimalakeerthi Thero duringbthe house-warming ceremony.

The simple opening ceremony was held in the presence of the Commander 141 Brigade, Commanding Officers of 6 SLA and the Officer Commanding 12 Engineer Services Squadron, members of the ‘Sevanak Wemu Foundation’ and relatives of the beneficiary.
