121 Brigade troops serving Wellawaya area promptly responded and brought a fast spreading bush-fire under control in the general area of Wadinagala Mountain range on Saturday (9).
The timely assistance of the 121 Brigade troops under command to the Security Force HQ-Central on the directions of the 121 Brigade Commander, together with respective Commanding Officers used water and extinguished the wild-fire before it spread into the whole area where forest reserves are available.
The General Officer Commanding of the 12 Division closely supervised the emergency and gave necessary directions to control the fire.
