12 Field Engineer Regiment troops, engaged in the national infrastructure development project as assigned by HE the President’s ‘Gama Samaga Pilisandarak’ completed the renovation of 8 playgrounds and finally left the remaining one at Walallawita Maha Vidyalaya in the hands of the students on 24 November.
Renovation of 08 playgrounds in schools in Kalutara District were entrusted to the Army during the 7th ‘Gama Samaga Pilisandarak’ programme held at Walallawita village on 23 January 2021.
12 Field Engineer Regiment troops completed those renovation projects which will greatly benefit school students for promotion of sports.
Brigadier Asanga Perera, Commander of the General Engineer Brigade under the guidance of the Chief Field Engineer, Major General Nihal Amarasekara and the General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara carried out the renovation work with his troops.
