Troops of the 121 Brigade and 18 Gemunu Watch of the 12 Division under the Security Force HQ-Central brought a wildfire that broke out atop the Deliwakanda Mountain range in Medagama-Giruwawapathana forest reserve under control within a few hours on Sunday (20).
Troops swiftly reached the affected area and collectively worked to extinguish the spreading wildfire before the whole forest range caught fire.
Brigadier Udaya Serasinha, Commander, 121 Brigade closely supervised and coordinated the project on the guidelines given by Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division.
