111 Brigade troops under command to the 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) launching a community-oriented programme for the benefit of under privileged students in the remote Doluwa Inguruwatta Primary School gave away free school books and accessories on Monday (23).
The sponsorship for this worthy cause extended to the troops by Mr Ranil Fernando and his family members was coordinated by the Commander, 111 Brigade. Under the programme, each student was gifted with a pair of shoes, a school bag and accessories during the simple ceremony held at the school premises.
Prior to the distribution, a Shramadana campaign to clean the school premises was also conducted by the troops, together with the assistance of parents.
