11 (V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) volleyball players in the 663 Infantry Brigade and the 66 Infantry Division under Security Force Headquarters - Mullaitivu (SFHQ-MLT) jointly organized a friendly volleyball tournament with players in the Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute on Sunday (Mar 19) with the intention of cementing comradeship, peace and harmony between the troops and locals in the area.
Initially, both teams played 3 matches and players in the 11 (V) GR team won 2 matches out of the three and was named as the champions. Later on, both teams, inspired by sports spirits afterwards played several more matches on the same day.
Lieutenant Colonel W.P.T Perera, Commanding Officer (CO), 11 (V) GR initiated the friendly encounter on the directions of Colonel Suneetha Thennakoon, Commander, 663 Infantry Brigade and Major General Nalin Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding, 66 Infantry Division.

The Chief Priest and the tutorial staff at Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute, CO, 11 (V) GR, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and a large crowd of spectators witnessed those friendly matches.
