11 SLNG Troops with Sponsorship Donate Needs of Pregnant Women

With sponsorship provided by a woman donor, 11 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 241 Brigade of the 24 Division under the Security Force HQ - East (SFHQ-E) took steps to distribute essentials and infant needs among 50 pregnant women of low-income groups in the general area of Damana in Ampara on Tuesday (24).

The event held at the Cultural Centre in Damana, was graced by Major General Saliya Amunugama, General Officer Commanding, 24 Division, together with Mrs Udyani Munasinghe and her relatives. The community project which benefitted those pregnant women was assisted by respective Grama Seva officials who assisted in the selection of most needed families.

Commander of 241 Brigade, Brigadier Chandra Abeykoon, Lieutenant Colonel W.G.N.D Weerasinghe, Commanding Officer of 11 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard and the Civil Affairs Officer, 241 Brigade, Major K.S Harisena and Other Ranks joined the community project.
