On the request of hospital authorities, troops of the 11 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-Central in order to maintain essential skeletal health services at Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, Kandy Hospital and Nuwara Eliya District Hospital supported the smooth conduct of emergency services on Monday (9 January) after a lightening strike of minor employees affected those hospitals.
2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 3 (V) Sinha Regiment troops of 111 and 112 Infantry Brigades provided their manpower to provide basic needs at those hospitals in close collaboration with respective hospital authorities.
The General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division and Brigade Commanders of 111 and 112 Infantry Brigades closely supervised the troops in coordination with their Commanding Officers in respective battalions.
