11 GW Troops Take Lead in Providing Medical Care to Needy Civilians

Troops of the 11 Gemunu Watch (11 GW) in the 623 Brigade under the 62 Division held a medical clinic for villagers in the general areas of Marathodai, Katkulam, Unjalkaddi and Pattikudiirippu Grama Niladhari divisions on Sunday (19) at Kirisuddan preschool premises.

Approximately 237 civilians attended the medical camp and received consultations and medicine, provided by Taprobane Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd, J.L. Morison Sons Pvt. Ltd, Johns (Ceylon) Pvt. Ltd and Pan Pharma (Pvt) Ltd as a response to the request of the troops.

Three medical officers, public health inspector, Army nursing staff and medical assistants contributed to the success of the project. Some of the patients were referred for further treatment at provincial hospitals.

The programme was suggested by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 62 Division, Brigadier Sanjaya Wanasinghe. Nike Sneakers | Women's Sneakers
