A group of 100 troops under command to the 122 Brigade and the 12 Division of the Security Forces-Central in response to a request of hospital authorities donated their blood for the benefit of patients lying at the Hambantota District Hospital through its Blood Bank on Friday (9).
This programme was organized under the direction of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters - Central Major General Samantha Silva, by the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Division Major General Lanka Amarapala, 122 Brigade Commander and Colombo Royal College Red Cross Society.
122 Brigade Commander Brigadier Nadeeka Kulasekara, after highlighting the humanitarian nature of the project directed his troops, including Officers to support the life-saving meritorious project at this prominent hospital.
Blood Bank medical officers, officials and minor staff thanked the Army for its thoughtful gesture of cooperation.
