10 SLLI organizes Medical Camp for Visually Impaired in Palinagar

The 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (10 SLLI) organized a medical camp with the aim of assisting visually impaired people in the Palinagar area on 14 March 2024 at the camp premises.

This program was scheduled in two phases. During the first phase, 275 visually impaired individuals underwent eye checkups, and during the second stage spectacles were provided and surgeries were done for those in need. Additionally, refreshments were served to those who were screened at the medical camp.

The program was launched with the generous contribution of Dr. Sarveswaran, the Secretary of Assist Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization, and the event was conducted under the guidance of Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 56 Infantry Division.

Major K.A.K. Hewapathage RWP RSP USP, the Commanding Officer of 10 SLLI, made the necessary arrangements for the event.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Staff of Assist Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization, and residents in the area participated in the program.

Meanwhile, the second phase of the medical camp commenced on 16 March 2024, and 287 patients benefited during the event. Senior officers, Officers, and Other Ranks took part in the program.
