1 SLAPC Supports Keselwatta Temple ‘Katina’ Ceremony

1 Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (SLAPC) troops during the weekend (22-23 October) extended their maximum support for the conduct of the annual ‘Katina Pooja’ ceremony at Sirinandana Viharaya in Keselwatta, Panadura.

Held under the guidance of the incumbent Ven Medauyangoda Dhammawimala Thero, a colourful procession brought the ‘Katina Cheevaraya’ before religious observances got underway.

The Dharnma preaching and a Bodhi Pooja followed the offer of ‘Heel Daana’ (Breakfast) to monks and the offering of ‘Atapirikara’ to all Bhikkus ending the ceremony.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, 612 Brigade Commander, Brigadier K.L.S.S Liyanagama, Major G.A Bandula, Commanding Officer, 4 Field Engineer Service Regiment (Vol) and Major I.I.M.P Udukumara of 1 Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps and Senior Officers, state officials and devotees took part in the ceremony.
