1 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (1 SLAMC) troops conducted a Disaster Management Workshop under the supervision of the Directorate of Army Medical Services from 26 February 2024 to 01 March 2024 at the 1 SLAMC Werahera camp premises with the intention of improving preparedness among the SLAMC personnel in handling various crisis scenarios.
The program included a blend of theoretical sessions and practical applications, culminating in a simulation exercise designed to simulate real life disaster scenarios. The simulation exercise was supervised by Major R.M.D.I. Rathnayaka, the Acting Consultant Emergency Physician and several other consultants.
The Director of the Directorate of Army Medical Services, Brigadier K.G.K.H. Wijewardane RSP USP, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also participated in the event.
