1 Corps with Medical Staffers Provide 'Booster' to Garment Employees in Kilinochchi

Employees of the Mass Garment Factories at Vidiyal and Vaanavil in Kilinochchi on Saturday (29) were provided with the booster dose for COVID 19 epidemic, following arragements made jointly by the Kilinochchi Army Base Hospital and the 1 Corps Hq at Kilinochchi as one more community project of the Army.

The Commander, 1 Corps Major General Harendra Ranasinghe closely coordinated the project with the medical staff at the Army Base Hospital in Kilinochchi. Those civilians had already received both doses of the vaccine earlier before the booster was injected.

On the instructions given by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, Army troops of the Headquarters 1 Corps launched the project. Accordingly, a total of 600 emplyees in both factories received the booster dose on Saturday (29).

The project was completed strictly adhering to health protocols and preventive guidelines.
