A two-day workshop on ‘Military in Internal Security Operations’ (MISO) initiated by the Directorate of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights under the guidance of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva got underway at the 1 Corps Headquarters at Iranamadu, Kilinochchi during 25 - 26 November 2021 under the supervision of the Commander 1 Corps, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe.
The session was conducted by Regional Arms and Security Forces Delegate Brigadier (Retd) Jacques Lemay and Mr: Channa Jayawardena, representing the International Committee of Red Cross. 40 senior officers participated in the workshop representing Headquarters 1 Corps, 53 Infantry Division, Forward Maintenance Area-Kilinochchi, Commando Brigade, Special Forces Brigade, 8 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment and 9 Sri Lanka Signal Corps.
