‘Sinha Mela 2018’ at Ambepussa Draws Huge Crowds

The ‘Sinha Mela’- 2018, the two-day Trade Fair and Musical Show - 2018 of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) with a record gathering of visitors, drew to a close at the Warakapola public ground on Saturday (7).

This variety entertainment event plus the musical show was organized by the SLSR troops under the guidance of Major General Piyal Wickramaratne, Colonel of the Regiment SLSR and the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF). Brigadier Ajith Pallewala, Centre Commandant, SLSR Regimental Headquarters supported this fund raising event, considering the importance of it to the RHQ.

The event was ceremonially opened on Thursday (6) by the Colonel of the Regiment Major General Piyal Wickramaratne.

This variety show plus the fair was meant to raise funds for the SLSR welfare fund. The arrangement consisted of stalls, filled with festive decorations, clothes, dry food items, essentials, readymade garments and many more things. Musical shows in the evenings added colour and entertainment to the spectators on both days Cultural troupes of the SLSR beautified the evenings.

Many senior military officers, Council Members, Deputy Centre Commandant and SLSR Battalion Commanders were present during both days for inaugural occasion.
