‘Ranaviruwa’ Chief Editor Talks of ‘Military Literature’ at SLAVF

The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) in connection with their customary training day invited Lieutenant Colonel E.A.A Sujith Chaminda, the Chief Editor of ‘Ranaviruwa’ magazine of the Directorate of Psychological Operations in the Army to deliver a lecture on ‘Military Literature’ on Wednesday (12) at the SLAVF HQ.

The project was lined up under the supervision of Major General Thusitha Silva, Deputy Commandant, SLAVF under the guidelines given by Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commandant, SLAVF.

The lecturer outlined unmatched and numerous sacrifices of true sons of the motherland during the wars although battlefield memories are fast fading, forgetful of priceless moments. He is also an author who has compiled impressive pieces of works based on the Sri Lankan War that added a military Literature to the Sri Lanka Army.

During the session, two pieces of his recently-authored works were presented to the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Inspector of Training and Colonel of Training of the SLAVF. Addressing the gathering, the SLAVF Commandant praised his endeavor on addressing untold episodes of the battle which remain hidden over thirty years and also for the benefit of future generations. He spelt out the true bravery of soldiers as true worriers during the war as it reached its climax by early 2009.

A large gathering of Senior Officers and All Ranks attended the lecture.

Similarly, the same lecture was delivered at the 11 Division Headquarters in Kundasale at the invitation of Major General Kalpa Sanjeewa on Friday (14).

300 plus troops including officers listened to the lecture.
