The Army-managed Laya Chain of Hotels in the hope of further improving their professional standards in the hospitality trade launched a full-day training programme for 50 ‘Laya’ industry participants on ‘Hotel Management’ with expertise, provided by the well-renowned senior lecturer, Mr. Vijitha Wijerathna on Thursday (Jan 12) at Laya Beach Hotel in Wadduwa.
The programme, initiated on the directions given by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, and Brigadier Rohan Benjamin, Director and Chief Operating Officer of Laya Chain of Hotels closely touched on the subject of proper management of the industry to meet with challenging facets of the industry. Among the attendees in the project were three Sri Lanka Navy personnel.
Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army attended the inaugural occasion as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the Director and Chief Operating Officer of Laya Chain of Hotels.
