‘Healthy Army - Healthy Nation’ Educates Army Personnel at Ragama BOD

The Colombo Army Hospital - spearheaded ‘Healthy Army - Healthy Nation’ project that educates Army personnel on conduct of healthy life, performance of effective duties and prevention from non-communicable diseases and other contagious ones on Wednesday (27) went to the Base Ordnance Depot (BOD) in Ragama and spoke to over 100 Army members working there.

The founder of the project, Brigadier (Dr) Maureen Wijewardana, Consultant Physician at the Colombo Army Hospital delivered a comprehensive lecture and educated Army members on the importance of food habits, physical exercises, diseases, personal health habits, family health, etc.

In addition, Colonel (Dr) Lakmini Ranasighe and Captain (Dr) A.C.K. Udugama, Dietician and Nutritionist respectively focused on the importance of physical exercises and food control plus nutrition. Around the same time, several demonstrations of physical exercises were presented by physical instructors of the Army.

Major J.M.C.B.R Bandara, Staff Officer at the ‘Healthy Army - Healthy Nation’ coordinating office and a few Other Ranks were associated with the arrangement.
