SLASC Celebrates Its 76th Anniversary

The Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) commemorated its 76th Anniversary on 30 October 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Panagoda.

In line with the celebrations, inter-battalion cricket and volleyball tournaments were conducted, followed by a war heroes’ commemoration and an almsgiving ceremony held on 25 October 2025 at the Sri Maha Bodhirajarama Temple, Panagoda.

On the Anniversary day, Major General K.T.P. de Silva RSP ndu psc, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the SLASC, was accorded a Guard Turnout and a ceremonial parade in accordance with military traditions.

During the parade, SLASC athletes who brought glory to the Corps and the Army in international events were honoured, including Major R.B.N. Rathnayake, who was conferred ‘Knighthood’ by the World Military Sports Council.

To mark the occasion, the Colonel Commandant planted a sapling, posed for a group photograph and joined the traditional all-ranks tea.

The anniversary celebrations concluded with a vibrant musical concert attended by senior officers, officers, other ranks and civilian staff.
