In a significant display of community support, Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, officially handed over the keys to a newly constructed house to Mr. Selvarasa Sudhakaran and his family in Chankanai, Jaffna, on 09 October 2024.

Major General W.G.P. Sisira Kumara RSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), made a courtesy visit to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (SLAVFTS) on 5th October 2024. SLAVFTS is the premier training institution for the Volunteer Force.

Major General W.G.P. Sisira Kumara RSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), paid a courtesy visit to the 9th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (9(V) SLLI) on 4th October 2024, a place where he began his career as a budding Officer.

The Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM), together with Lions Club of Sri Lanka Jayawardenepura Kotte, the Provincial Director of Health Services North Central Province, the Regional Director of Health Services Anuradhapura, Medical officer of Health Mahavilachchiya and the Divisional Hospital Thanthirimale, organized and successfully conducted the annual health camp on the 06 October 2024 at the Thanthirimale Raja Maha Viharaya premises.

In line with the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), ceremonially planted a white sandalwood sapling on 10 October 2024 as part of the Army Day celebrations.

Under the guidance of the Commander of the 213 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of the 5 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), the troops of the 5 SLNG organized a book donation programme on 04 October 2024 at Wimalaghana Maha Vidyalaya, Thanthirimale.

To mark the Sri Lanka Army’s 75th Anniversary, an island-wide tree planting programme was launched under the guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army. The initiative, under the supervision of the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock, commenced on 10 October 2024 with the Army Chief planting a “Red Sandalwood” sapling at Army Headquarters.

Brigadier R.M.C Rathnayaka RWP RSP USP, Commander of the 212 Infantry Brigade, attended the prefects' investiture ceremony at Walisinghe Harischandra National College, Anuradhapura, as the Chief Guest on 05 October 2024.

A special dengue prevention campaign was conducted by the 551 Infantry Brigade in Kilinochchi town on 08 October 2024. The initiative was carried out under the direction of Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), and Colonel T.B.M.R Kandekumbura RSP USP, the acting Commander of the 551 Infantry Brigade.
