Troops of the 23 Infantry Division organised a tree planting programme on 09 October 2024, at the 23 Infantry Division Headquarters premises to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army.

In celebration of World Children’s Day, the troops of the 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) organised a donation programme at the Vision Hope Day Care Centre in Pandirippu on 01 October 2024.

As part of the Sri Lanka Army's 75th anniversary celebrations, four new houses were constructed by the 8th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 4th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 10 (V) Gamunu Watch, and the 11th Sri Lanka Artillery and officially handed over to beneficiaries on 12 October 2024.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, along with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, attended the opening ceremony of the Lanil Galaboda Memorial 'Sanghawasaya' (residential monastery) at Jayathilakarama Purana Viharaya, Peliyagoda, on 13 October 2024.

Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant Corps of Engineers graced Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya, as the Chief Guest at the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony held on 11 October 2024.

Troops from the 11 Infantry Division participated in a blood donation programme organized by the Community Society of Digana at the Silver Cross Medical Centre on 12 October 2024.

Coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, troops of 553 Infantry Brigade conducted a successful shramadana campaign at Tharmapuram Hospital on 10 October 2024.

After an illustrious tenure as the 33rd Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), Major General W.G.P. Sisira Kumara RSP officially relinquished his duties and retired from the Sri Lanka Army on 8th October 2024. His farewell was marked by a series of military honors at the SLAVF Headquarters.

In a heartwarming gesture, Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, officially handed over a newly constructed house to a deserving family in Ranakeliya, Tissamaharama, on 10 October 2024. This initiative was launched as a part of the Sri Lanka Army’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

In a significant display of community support, Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, officially handed over the keys to a newly constructed house to Mr. Selvarasa Sudhakaran and his family in Chankanai, Jaffna, on 09 October 2024.
