Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), along with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, were invited to inaugurate two new accommodation facilities at the SLNG Regimental HQ Battalion premises at Heraliyawala, Kurunegala, this evening (11 October).

The spirit of camaraderie and fellowship among the ranks of the Sri Lanka Army was celebrated on Thursday (10th) at a special dinner in Panagoda Army Cantonment in honour of the Army Day. Officers and Other Ranks from all 25 regiments gathered for this annual event, which was graced by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, as the Chief Guest.

The Sri Lanka Army marked its 75th Anniversary today (10 October) at the Panagoda Army Cantonment. This milestone commemorates its sustained efforts against terrorism, which have brought lasting peace to the nation after more than three decades of conflict. The Army pledged to continue its role as a leading guarantor of national security.

The 61 Infantry Division bade farewell to outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General K.H.M.S Wickamaratne RSP on 08 October 2024 at 61 Infantry Division premises amidst military traditions.

A special dengue prevention campaign was conducted by the 551 Infantry Brigade in Kilinochchi town on 08 October 2024. The initiative was carried out under the direction of Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), and Colonel T.B.M.R Kandekumbura RSP USP, the acting Commander of the 551 Infantry Brigade.

The 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) organized a school items donation programme on 9 October 2024 at Katpagachoolei Preschool in Waddu North, Jaffna.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Chandi Rajapakse, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLASC-SVB), the Children’s Day Programme was held at 2(V) SLASC, Katunayake, on 06 October 2024. The event was conducted under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel R.A Udaratage, Commanding Officer of 2(V) SLASC, and his spouse, Mrs. Chandima Udaratage.

The Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAWC-SVB) celebrated World Children’s Day with an art exhibition at the Panagoda Sri Bhodhirajarama Temple on 4 October 2024. The event was held under the guidance of Mrs. Udula Kasturimudali, Chairperson of SLAWC-SVB and Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division and the Colonel Commandant of SLAWC.

Major General K.A.U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, General Officer Commanding of the 11 Infantry Division, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon Governor of the Central Province, S.B.S Abayakoon, at the Governor's Office on 09 October 2024.

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, troops of the 52 Infantry Division conducted a blood donation campaign on 8 October 2024 at the Division Headquarters.
