Troops of the 12 Infantry Division took part in a blood donation campaign organised by the Royal College Red Cross Society at the Blood Bank of District General Hospital, Hambantota, on 12 October 2024.

The 68th anniversary of the 2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) was celebrated at the Battalion Headquarters in Kandy on 4 October 2024. The event featured religious activities and military formalities, conducted under the guidance of Major A.M.D.S. Thilakarathne, the Commanding Officer of the 2 (V) SLSR.

The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) held its annual convocation ceremony on 14 and 15 October 2024 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). Undergraduates from various academic disciplines, including Strategic Studies and International Relations, Medicine, Engineering, Law, Management, Allied Health Sciences, Built Environment and Spatial Sciences, as well as Computing, received their graduation certificates upon successfully completing their academic programmes.

The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSR-SVB) conducted a Children’s Day programme under the guidance of Mrs. Neluka Nanayakkara, Chairperson of SLSR-SVB, on 12 October 2024 at the Regimental Centre in Ambepussa.

The Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (CR-SVB) celebrated World Children’s Day on 5 October 2024 by hosting a series of events for the children of Commando Regiment families at the Commando Regiment Swimming Pool Complex. Mrs. Nimali Ranathunga, the Chairperson of CR-SVB, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Major General A.H.L.G. Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), inspected the IDP Centres established for flood-affected civilians at Vidyavardhana Vidyalaya in Wellampitiya, Siddhartha Vidyalaya in Sedawatta, and Gamini Vidyalaya in Kotuvila on 14 October 2024.

Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR), visited the Mechanized Infantry Brigade and 1 MIR on 14 October 2024.

Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Infantry Division, conducted a formal visit to the 561 Infantry Brigade, 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 4 October 2024.
