Lieutenant General Aroldo Lazaro Saenz, the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) along with Contingent Commander of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Unit (SLFPU), visited the Jabel Amel Hospital in Tyre, Lebanon on 12 October 2024. He inquired about a soldier injured during a conflict while on force protection duties at UNIFIL HQ in Naqoura.

Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Infantry Division, graced the cultural festival at Poovarasankulam Maha Vidyalaya as the Chief Guest on 11 October 2024.

Troops of the 23 Gemunu Watch (GW) organised a special lunch for 18 children from Winayagar Pre-School on 10 October 2024, in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army. The event was conducted under the guidance of Major H.G.T.J Hapurugala, Commanding Officer of 23 GW.

Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, the troops of the 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), provided lunch for 35 children residing at the Urthirapuram Arobanam Children’s Home in Kilinochchi on 10 October 2024.

As part of the ongoing housing project of the Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General P.R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division handed over the key of a newly constructed house to the deserving family in Nunavil West, Chavakachcheri coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army on 10 October 2024.

Major General V.D.S Perera of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry assumed duties as the 18th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 64 Infantry Division amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 64 Infantry Division Headquarters on 12 October 2024.

Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division, paid a formal visit to the 563 Infantry Brigade, 11 Gemunu Watch (GW), and 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) on 3 October 2024.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Defence and the instructions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Sri Lanka Army has deployed troops to assist people affected by the ongoing adverse weather conditions. The overflowing of rivers has resulted in widespread flooding across the island, prompting immediate action to provide much-needed relief and support to those impacted by this disaster.
