SLAVF Launches Welfare Initiative

The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), in collaboration with Lions International District 306 D6, launched a large-scale charitable programme titled “Weights of Hearts in Need Cherished by the Hands of Compassion” on 10 November 2025 at the Headquarters, SLAVF.
The Opening Ceremony of Exercise Mithra Shakthi 2025 was ceremonially held on 10 November 2025 at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Belagavi (Belgaum), Karnataka, India, marking the commencement of the long-standing bilateral military training exercise between the Sri Lanka Army and the Indian Army.

A sudden fire broke out at an electrical equipment shop located within a building owned by the Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabha was successfully brought under control on 09 November 2025 through the prompt response of 573 Infantry Brigade troops operating under the 61 Infantry Division and Security Forces (West).The fire, which started had spread to 12 nearby shops.
